Jammed, humming or leaking disposals

SnapWork fixes one garbage disposal that is jammed, hums without turning, won't turn on, or leaks at a connection, or installs a replacement unit you bought on the existing plug or wiring. The disposal job has a posted price for the standard work. New wiring, new switches and drain pipe changes are not part of it. We work across Napa County and Solano County.

What's included

  • Clearing a jam and resetting the disposal
  • Fixing a leak at an accessible connection
  • Installing a compatible replacement you bought on the existing plug or wiring
  • Testing it with water before the pro leaves

Not included

  • New wiring, switches or outlets
  • Circuit problems at the electrical panel
  • Drain pipe changes and cabinet water damage

Before you call

Turn the disposal off at the wall switch. Press the red reset button on the bottom of the unit. If it still hums or won't start, it needs a pro. Never put your hand inside.

Repair or replace

Jams, tripped resets and loose connections are repairs. A unit that leaks from its body, rusts through or keeps tripping needs replacing. Buy one with the same mounting style to keep the swap simple.

Slow sink too?

If the sink drains slowly even with the disposal running, add a drain repair.

What to photograph

  • Under the sink, showing the disposal, drain and plug or wiring
  • The bottom of the disposal, where leaks show
  • The new disposal's box, if you bought one

Common extras

Often added to this job. Each one is optional and has its own price.

  • Running or leaking toilet
  • Caulk, grout, or seal touch-up
SnapWork is not an emergency service. For flooding, sewage, gas, smoke, fire, sparking or exposed wires, call 911 or your utility first.
