Boards, not structure

Deck boards wear out first: they crack, cup and rot where water sits. The pro replaces the bad ones and screws them down tight. If the joists underneath are soft, the repair is structural and needs a licensed contractor.

Small stain refresh

One coat of stain on one small area of fence or deck, with light prep. Bigger decks, stripping old finish and spraying are priced from your photo.

Before the pro comes

Clear furniture and planters off the deck. Buy the stain if you want one applied, and have it on site.

What to photograph

  • The whole deck from one corner
  • Close-ups of each damaged board
  • A screwdriver pushed into soft spots, to show how deep the rot goes

Questions people ask

How much does deck board replacement cost?

It depends on how many boards and their length, so we price it from your photo. Small stain refreshes have a posted price.

Is my deck safe?

Soft boards can be replaced. A deck that sways, has soft joists or pulls away from the house needs a licensed contractor to look at it.

Do I need to pressure wash before staining?

Yes. Stain only sticks to clean, dry wood. Add pressure washing and let the deck dry before the stain coat.

Will new boards match the old ones?

Not at first. New wood is lighter. A stain refresh evens out the color.
